Job Description :
Scope:


Maintain progress on high profile digitization and other assigned projects, meeting grant deadlines, seeking promotional opportunities, and speaking at professional conferences, to community groups and to cultural organizations regarding the projects.  Work within the limits of established policies. Uphold the Library System’s mission and values in the pursuit of all duties; respect for the individual, our organization, and the community, excellence in everything we do, and integrity in our actions, while providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.



Essential Functions:


1.    Participate in the creation, planning, and implementation of digital initiatives and special library projects as assigned.  Provide ongoing support to achieve goals of digital initiatives and special library projects as assigned. Conceive, plan, and coordinate projects, workshops and events to engage residents with the Library.


2.    Establish relationships with cultural, historical and service organizations, businesses and county, city, and other government organizations to identify and partner in programs of mutual interest in support of projects. Promote library services to these organizations; conduct meetings and workshops to fulfill the needs of digital initiatives and special library projects as assigned.



3.    Plan, coordinate and facilitate training, in-person and virtually for staff and the public on digital initiatives and special library projects.  Evaluate training to determine effectiveness and implement changes as needed.



4.    Work with managers to schedule and oversee staff assigned to complete certain elements of the digital initiative and special projects.



5.    Target a variety of efforts to seek additional funding for current and additional projects. Identify areas of need, develop budget, seek donors and write grant applications or assist others writing grant applications.



6.    Develop, coordinate, monitor and update digital content to communicate programs, events and thematic information for the public.



7.    Develop marketing plans to promote digital initiatives and special library projects to the community.



8.    Track, maintain and report required statistics and evaluation reports as required by manager including but not limited to meeting grant deadlines and monthly reports.



9.    Identify, document, communicate, and refer issues of concern to Manager and Assistant Manager and make recommendations as to action required.



10. Maintain and communicate knowledge of trends, changes and innovations in libraries and related industries.



Other duties may include but are not limited to:


1.    Perform or assist with any system operations, under direction, to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.


2.    Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.



3.    Monitor patrons in the Library and remind them of Library policies as required to ensure that the resources of the Library are fully accessible to all patrons.



4.    Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Perform other related duties as assigned.


 
Tools and Equipment Used:

Computers, web, basic software and hardware tools, wireless telephones, LCD projector,  video conferencing equipment, video cameras, digital cameras, document scanners, printers, plasma screens, microphones, and common peripherals and office equipment.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree required.  Experience in public relations, public speaking, training, grant writing and events coordination preferred.
