Duties: The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and secretarial support to a new, multi-college
research center, tentatively named the Global Center for Hearing and Speech Research.
The Global Center for Hearing & Speech Research carries out externally funded grants and contracts, and engages in technology transfer projects, in the areas of biomedical engineering, communication sciences & disorders, and aging studies. Budget is about $1 million/year and growing, 6 Core Faculty, 5 PhD students, 2 post-doctoral fellows, undergraduate students and 2 permanent staff in addition to the present administrative position.
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Master's degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor's degree in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program with two or more years of administrative role or secretarial experience at USF.
Special Instructions: The individual should have the ability to write clear memos, letters, reports; Precision in working with budget and research report numbers; Friendly, helpful, personable nature, team player; Service oriented with diverse people in the office & Center; database entry/ management after training; Good interaction with people of all ages, e.g., human subjects, visitors.
This appointment is funded from non-recurring funds and is subject to the continuation of those funds. In the event the funds are discontinued or reduced, this appointment may end sooner or result in a reduction of your FTE.
This position is subject to a criminal background check.
