			Position:	Library IT Specialist I
Number of Positions Available:	1
Compensation:	Range of $16.39/hr, $34,091/yr to $24.75/hr, $51,480/yr
Job Description:	Provides mid and high level technical support for the Polk County Library Cooperative Information Technology Systems.  This position and staff filling it are annually reviewed for renewal and are not automatically retained from one year to the next. Provides troubleshooting and support for Cooperative owned equipment including, but not limited to, routers, switches, wi-fi components, servers, cable-modems, firewalls, etc. Provides troubleshooting and support for Cooperative approved software and applications including, but not limited to Integrated Library Automation System (ILS), cataloging tools (such as BookWhere and CatExpress), Installs, configures, and updates hardware and software as needed and directed. Develops and maintains documentation on hardware, software and problems/resolutions. Provides on-call support as assigned Performs other related duties as assigned
Education / Qualifications:	Willingness and ability to work as part of a team to achieve organizational goals Ability to work independently Ability to communicate with all constituents/ co-workers and supervisor in a respectful and appropriate manner High school diploma and post-secondary training and/or Three years proven experience in similar IT position(s) or five years experience in IT. Strong problem-solving and general mechanical abilities. Microsoft operating system installation and administration. Basic computer hardware installation and repair. All Qualifications and skills listed on IT Technician Job Description Preferred Qualifications: Completion of two-year technical school or two years of college or university credits in core subject area (information technology, computer technology or equivalent) Experience in PC and network related hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Experience with Cisco equipment and software Experience with VM Ware Experience in a Library environment
